Biography

Perdiccas was one of Alexanderโ€™s elite companions and served as a chiliarch near the end of the campaigns.
After Alexanderโ€™s death, he was appointed regent for Philip III and the infant Alexander IV, aiming to preserve unity of the empire.
His attempt to seize Ptolemaic Egypt failed; dissatisfied officers mutinied and killed him in 321 BCE, accelerating the breakup of the empire.
