Biography
Perdiccas was one of Alexander’s elite companions and served as a chiliarch near the end of the campaigns.
After Alexander’s death, he was appointed regent for Philip III and the infant Alexander IV, aiming to preserve unity of the empire.
His attempt to seize Ptolemaic Egypt failed; dissatisfied officers mutinied and killed him in 321 BCE, accelerating the breakup of the empire.
