Biography

Antipater was born in Macedon in the late 5th century BC and rose as a trusted statesman under Philip II and Alexander the Great.
During Alexander's eastern campaigns, he governed Macedon and later crushed the Lamian War, keeping Greek city-states under Macedonian control.
He died in 319 BC, leaving a major power struggle that fueled the Wars of the Diadochi.
