Zhuge Liang

Chancellor of Shu Han

Biography

Zhuge Liang lived a quiet life of farming and study until Liu Bei visited his thatched cottage three times (Three Visits to the Hut) to beg for his assistance.
He designed the 'Longzhong Plan', dividing China into three states to counter Cao Cao's supreme power, and was instrumental in the allied victory at Red Cliffs.
Following Liu Bei's death, Zhuge Liang became the regent of Shu Han, fiercely governing the state and stabilizing relations with the southern tribes.
Remaining completely devoted to restoring the Han dynasty, he pushed forward with five grueling Northern Expeditions against the mighty Wei. He eventually died of exhaustion at the Wuzhang Plains in 234 AD.
