Biography

Quintus Caecilius Metellus Pius Scipio was a prominent Optimates senator. He became a key military leader for the anti-Caesarian faction after aligning with Pompey.
He assumed command in Africa, gathering forces and war elephants to oppose Caesar. His army was defeated at the Battle of Thapsus in 46 BC, after which he fled and died shortly thereafter.
