Biography

Amr ibn al-Aas was born in Mecca around the late 6th century and became an important commander of the Rashidun Caliphate.
He is best known for leading the conquest of Egypt, including the capture of key Byzantine positions, and for helping build a stable new administration there.
He died in 664 AD, remembered as one of the main commanders of the early Islamic expansions.
