Aisha is one of the most important female figures in Islamic history, known for her scholarship and as a narrator of Hadiths.
After the assassination of Uthman, she demanded justice for his death and joined forces with Talha and Zubayr to oppose Ali's caliphate.
She led her troops from atop a camel, giving the name to the Battle of the Camel. After her forces were defeated by Ali, she was treated with respect and allowed to return to Medina.
She spent the rest of her life as a teacher and scholar of Islam, refraining from politics but remaining a highly influential figure.
