Former Qin was a state of the Sixteen Kingdoms in China, ruled by the Di people. Under the leadership of Fu Jian and his brilliant advisor Wang Meng, it briefly unified all of northern China.
Legend says that before Fu Jian ascended the throne, he dreamt of a golden dragon descending from the sky, which was interpreted as a sign of his destiny to unite the warring states. However, his overambitious southern campaign ended in a crushing defeat at the Fei River, leading to the rapid fragmentation of the empire.
