Biography

Abu Bakr as-Siddiq was one of the earliest converts to Islam and accompanied Muhammad on the Hijra to Medina.
Upon Muhammad's death in 632, he was elected as the first Caliph, preventing the disintegration of the young Muslim community.
He successfully suppressed the Ridda Wars (Wars of Apostasy), reuniting the Arabian tribes, and launched the initial expansions into Syria and Iraq.
