Phraates II was born around the mid-2nd century BC and became king of Parthia while still very young.
He is best known for defeating Seleucid king Antiochus VII, a victory that stopped major Seleucid recovery in the east.
He died around 127 BC during later wars on Parthia's frontiers, after preserving the kingdom through a difficult period.
